DISCLAIMER: 

I was not present in the preparation or the creation of this post. I do, however, agree with everything my partner mentioned as she also included some of my ideas and some of the opinions I shared with her before she created this piece. This video is a clear depiction of what we wanted to say and why and what our intentions were. I wouldn’t change anything about it as I agree completely with my partners' commentary. If I had to add anything I would add that:

  1. At the beginning of the music video, we kept the sound us chatting in the background of the footage to add a sort of diegetic sound in the music video, considering the song begins with a man warning another man not to drink. We kept the conversation bit of the video in the background in the video as we wanted it to seem like it was part of the song, therefore connecting the two.
  2. I would also add that all the overlays used in the music video were symbolic and where there to resemble something that may not have been physically there. We also tried to create a graduation of colour through the overlays, we wanted the overlays to go from one side of the rainbow to the other with the overlays, considering our audiences preference.

J Cole  – False Prophets - J Coles video for his song “False Prophets” is performed in a very informal way, basically walking through his day showing us, the viewers, a day in his life, in his neighborhood surrounded by everyday encounters. It's filmed in a loose, shaky way as if it were filmed by an amateur. At the beginning of this video the artist, J Cole, is sat on the seat of a bus stop watching out for the bus. The environment he is surrounded by seems familiar according to his calm and natural attitude. Analysis: Despacito - Luis Fonsi ft Daddy Yankee (Music Video)

Despacito - Luis Fonsi ft. Daddy Yankee – The video begins with a beautiful view, setting the scene with an acoustic sounding version of the song subtly playing in the background. It’s a beautiful beach in Puerto Rico, the hometown of the lead musician. A child is shown running into a chicken coop and trying to catch a chicken. After this we get the first glimpse of the women that seems to be the topic of the song, walking down the pathway. The scene is shortcut off to show a long-shot view of the favela type houses stacked on top of each other in front of the beach we had seen previously. This once again helps with reinforcing the set of the scene. The inspiration behind this video I believe is Latin America meets Spanish music and influence. This theme is well developed throughout the video as salsa, a Spanish dance is incorporated into the video along with the style of the music and the Latin American landscape.
